The English Opens Doors Program (PIAP) is excited to announce the launch of a new course: Digging Deeper Into Assessing Students. Running from 7 June to 18 August, this course is designed to deepen your understanding of the key components of assessment and provide you with a roadmap for utilizing summative assessment as a means of informing your instructional practices.

Over the course of 11 weeks, participants will learn to independently design, develop and deliver performance-based summative assessments for hybrid learning using the Aims of Performance-based Summative Assessments and the Backwards Design model for unit planning.   By learning how to analyze assessment tools and to utilize assessment data, participants will gain insight into how assessment can be used as a firm foundation to help students achieve learning objectives. The course includes online lessons and activities, as well as independent practice and discussion opportunities.

Interested in taking part? Applications are open from 10 to 23 May and spaces are limited. Apply for your spot here!

To be eligible to participate, keep in mind that you must:

  • Be an English teacher at a public (municipal, delegated administration, or local public education service) or government-subsidized school, and
  • Not be enrolled or participating in any other PIAP training initiative simultaneously (e.g., Teachers’ Academy, TP Training, etc.).

  • Are an active member of an English Teachers’ Network (RDI).
