Did you miss out on the Summative Assessment course last semester? Here’s your second chance! The English Opens Doors Program (PIAP) is offering Digging Deeper Into Assessing Students again this semester. Running from 20 September to 26 November, this course is designed to deepen your understanding of the key components of assessment and provide you with a roadmap for utilizing summative assessment as a means of informing your instructional practices.
Over the course of 10 weeks, participants will learn to independently design, develop and deliver performance-based summative assessments for hybrid learning using the Aims of Performance-based Summative Assessments and the Backwards Design model for unit planning. By learning how to analyze assessment tools and to utilize assessment data, participants will gain insight into how assessment can be used as a firm foundation to help students achieve learning objectives. The course includes online lessons and activities, as well as independent practice and discussion opportunities.
Interested in taking part? Applications are open from 20 August to 5 September and spaces are limited. Apply for your spot here.
To be eligible to participate, keep in mind that you must:
- Be an English teacher at a public (municipal, delegated administration, or local public education service) or government-subsidized school, and
